Egmond Circle International Gathering
Trustees from the Thalidomide Society will be joining friends from around the world at the Egmond Circle, an international gathering for people with Contergan/thalidomide-related disabilities. Trustee Geraldine Freeman has also been invited to give a short introduction and lead a workshop highlighting the Society’s Personal Support Project. We are delighted to be taking part and look forward to hearing from the many people attending.
Here’s a statement from their press;
“From October 26 to November 2, 2026, the international gathering “Egmond Circle” will take place in Egmond aan Zee. Around 300 guests from various countries are expected to attend. Lectures and hands-on workshops will address topics such as health and aging, medical needs, assistive devices, personal assistance, accessible housing, and mobility. Throughout the week, there will also be numerous opportunities for art, culture, and international exchange.
“Egmond Circle” unites individuals with thalidomide-related disabilities and their families with researchers and supporters. For one week, the focus will be on issues related to living with contergan/thalidomide-related disabilities in old age –both through professional discussions and personal encounters.”
